Question for HM
Not sure which thread we're posting board functionality questions in so I'm gonna attention whore and start my own.
Is it possible to make an adjustment to the mobile UI so that you can read the entire thread titles? They get cut off after a certain amount of characters. If possible would be cool. xoxo

Re: Question for HM
While we're on the subject of possible enhancements, what about embedding tweets? Last time I checked, it didn't work.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>My office view today <a href="http://t.co/flhkHI0dhB">pic.twitter.com/flhkHI0dhB</a></p>— Hondo Carpenter (@HondoCarpenter) <a href="https://twitter.com/HondoCarpenter/status/574247676809773057">March 7, 2015</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I tried manually replacing the < and > with [ and ] but that didn't do the trick. I could spend some more time on it, but I think it would eventually take some jquery/javascript magic on submit to see if the submitted content string contained class="twitter-tweet" and then make the appropriate substitutions for phpBB.

This would require allowing html in posts, which is a potential security issue.

Follow up. Not sure how easy one would be vs. the other. While it would be great to see the entire thread title in the forum view, more importantly would be that once you click on an individual thread, you can see the entire thread title there.
Looks like in forum view there is a 47 character limit to title display, and in individual thread view there is a 32 character limit.

#1 is done. #2 is a PITA with the way the mobile interface is currently written.

Good enough. Only mentioned that because I figured 2 might be easier to implement than 1. Thanks!

Re: Question for HM
I get the feeling that Heat could be 247's tech guy as a side job and the site would be about 4000% more functional than it is today. *
*I assume it's about as functional as the last time I posted there, which was probably a year ago or so.**
**Unless I got really drunk and posted there one night and don't remember it, which is entirely possible.

That was a nice surprise the other day.
Who decided to switch from 50 posts/page to 40? Doesn't affect anything, just noticed a subtle change and it was after all the maintenance last week.

Also 40 threads/page rather than 50.

Re: Question for HM
Heat, I have a fantasmic idea. I know you can get behind this one if it's easy to code.
Could you hook up an easy ignore bob button? Like I don't want to ignore him all of the time. I don't even want to ignore him MOST of the time. But on the days when he's off his meds I'd like the option of not having to wade through his bullshit until he's back on his meds. It's tough to read the board sometimes with his repetitive 'school spirit' injected in 14 consecutive posts in every thread. Finding the friend/foe option is quite difficult and can often take an imbecilic, provincial, bumpkin Midwesterner like me much longer than I really care to search for. TIA.

What I would really like to do is allow thread creators to make their thread read only for certain posters. Don't want Bob polluting your thread with repetitive crap? Just set him to read only. The Dude & Marc Summers got you down? Put 'em on read only. Problem solved.
