If you had $4.4 BILLION in Cash...
would buying AOL be at the top of your list of things to spend it on?
Verizon to Buy AOL for $4.4 Billion in Cash
Verizon to Buy AOL for $4.4 Billion in Cash
Verizon Communications on Tuesday said it would acquire AOL for $4.4 billion in an all-cash deal that will see today’s king of mobile phones acquire the one-time king of media.
Verizon is the largest mobile phone operator in the country, and has growing lines of business offering high-speed Internet, as well as business and streaming video services.
AOL, which acquired Time Warner for $165 billion in what is broadly regarded as a debacle and the high-water mark of the dot-com bubble, is now a shadow of its former self, managing a small collection of media and technology properties.
Verizon is billing the deal as a way for the company to expand its video offerings. Already a leader in distributing mobile video through its robust national mobile phone network, Verizon is making a push to become a leader in so-called over-the-top video, shorthand for television content distributed through the Internet.

How many free hours of online access will Verizon get from AOL?

No, but maybe I don't realize how valuable AOL's web properties are. AOL does seem to have some decent ones, and Verizon isn't really in that space so perhaps there is a good value there that Verizon is seeing that can help their company expand.

I'd recommend the deck at the Skyline in Epoufette for that Bob. Check on Backpage you should be able to arrange it in minutes. With the motel only $45 you can afford a nicer class of girls.
Let me recommend Jessica & Alexia for your 1st time, they won't be too rough on you.

I'm surprised anyone uses AOL anymore. My last memory of using that service was how awful it was to trying to cancel it, and that kept me from ever going back.

Have at it. Bob. You'll be able to scratch going 'up North' off your bucket list at the same time.Robert J Sakimano wrote:LooseGoose wrote:

I know someone who has used the same AOL email account for 20 years. I can't understand why.

I'd build a up Spartan Stadium to be the best in the country. I'd pay the best athletes to play football and basketball here and I'd live Vicariously through their accomplishments.
I'd gloat like a mother fucker too.

Why you build another Spartan Stadium in the UP?

As far as our players, if they were the best in the country, wouldn't we be National Champs yearly? Yeah, I'd be a bag man for Izzo and Dantonio if they wanted me to.

So, you've left Delaney off as a reason why for what reason? Yeah, always knew you were a Wolverine. No Spartan would leave Delaney off the list for reasons we don't win Championships yearly.

my hatred of Delaney should be implied by now. Much like my hatred of SCum.DWags wrote:Robert J Sakimano wrote:it's not our players.. look no further than the officiating.

not sure how much they control the officiating but since we are always screwed by them in football and basketball, I can only assume they have some sort of insipid, insidious influence.

If I had 4.4 billion.. my next priority would probably not include money. But that's just me.

Exactly, this isn't 1998 where you get a CD with the software and pay $10 or $20 per month or whatever it used to be. I don't use AOL, but I know people that do, and it's just like having any other free web based e-mail like gmail or yahoo. You can easily set it up in Outlook, on your phone, etc. I looked into it last year when my previous free e-mail provider stopped offering it. I went with gmail, but it does make me a little uncomfortable adding that to so much else that Google is ingrained in. I probably should have gone with AOL if for no other reason than to not give Google too much of my internet life.LoneWolfSparty wrote:Floyd Robertson wrote:

I still use the email when some website I'm never going to visit again has to have an email address from me so that they can complete an order.
