I follow recruiting enough to know the names of some of the Spartan targets, yet I don't know of any "must gets." Yet, you do, and you don't follow recruiting much. Riiight. What you're doing is setting up a future troll when any or all three of those players go someplace other than MSU.

The must get thing is played. But I will bite/play with my crystal ballz...

I say we get 2 of the 3. Irving-Bey seems like the best bet and a pre-fall commit. Seems to fit MSU's needs more than UoM's. Thomas and Hamler will play out till through fall or signing day. If Thomas is dead set on playing with JKP, then they will probably end up at Michigan. There doesn't seem to be much mutual interest interest with MSU/JKP and MSU just took a safety. Though I think he is leaning MSU based on all of his comments. Hamler will do the world wind tour of the spread teams, but most kids end up committing close to home. That said, Hamler seems open to playing away from home (IMG) and I wouldn't be shocked if he went out of state.

DPJ seems like someone that will go out of state.

Safety and WR are two positions we've recruited numbers at recently, so I wouldn't consider either position must gets.

I'd be fine with that. Hamler and Thomas are both 'next level' athletes imo that you see at other elite schools that MSU doesn't seem to have in bunches on offense right now. Getting 1 of the 2 would be satisfactory, but it seemed like just last Fall we were huge favs for both. I agree, doesn't look like UM is going after Irving Bey that hard because of their 3-4.

MSU needs more explosive athletes on offense and a better all around OL (where there is no weak link...even last year we had weakness at guard and RT) to win a national title.
