EAST LANSING -- The opening jump ball barely had been tossed up when Branndais Agee made her move.

She jumped in front of a Michigan pass and drove the length of the court for a layup.

“I was pumped for the game," Agee said. “I was saying that we were ready, we’re not going to play around this game. We’re coming out strong and you better be ready."

U-M wasn’t ready for this.

MSU dominated from the jump Wednesday night and drilled Michigan, 85-64, before 8,003 in the Breslin Center in the only regular-season meeting between the teams.

I'm guessing the scUM game took a little out of them. They also have 3 games in something like 5 days, so a little letdown is to be expected.

Would have been nice to have someone else step up on the scoring end, though.

MSU women rise to No. 20 in AP poll; Tenn. drops out

One week after nearly dropping out of the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, the Michigan State women’s basketball team bounced back.

The Spartans (20-7), who picked up a 70-67 win over Rutgers on Thursday and a 114-106 victory over Minnesota on Sunday, moved up five spots to No. 20 in Monday’s new rankings.

Perhaps the biggest news is that Tennessee’s 31-year run in the top 25 came to an end, snapping a 565-week streak that started on Feb. 17, 1985. The Lady Vols (16-11) dropped out after losing two of their three games last week.
