I'm going to have to watch the episode tonight again. Also loved the talk between Khaleesi and Tyrion.

I thought it was the best part of the episode.

Finally. Good lord, the White Walkers were slowest moving plot device of all time. Loved the episode last night. One of my all time favorites.

Damn glad I didn't tell my co-worker what I thought was going to happen.
Cersei is boring, but very important to what is happening in Westeros. Plus there is a possible mountainous fight. Get hype!

Questions.
Why did Stannis kill his own daughter?
Who were the zombies that were with the white walkers? (Not this ep)

He sacrificed his daughter to the Red God in hopes to get them out of the dire situation they are in.
The zombies are wights (sp?) which are dead free folk that the white walkers reincarnated. That is why they were always burning the bodies of the dead in the earlier seasons.

The story lines were alright. Stannis sacrificing his daughter was a tough watch. Overall though, the production of that episode kinda sucked compared to the week before. The previous week was so well done.

With regards to the daughter, gotcha. I also watched the "episode analysis" or whatever it's called after the ep. That helped a lot. They said there is something special about King's blood also.
So the zombies/wights, how are they different from the "dead" that the King White Walker raised to intimidate Snow and them on the boat? They all had blue eyes like the walkers, and did not appear to be wights.

Yeah apparently you need King's blood (be a direct relative of a King) for it work. Since they believe Stannis is the true king, his daughter would have king's blood. If you remember a few season's back they wanted to sacrifice Gentry (Robert Baratheon's bastard). Davos ended up convincing him to leach the blood out of him and then they fried the 3 leaches (which represented the 3 kings opposing Stannis, at least two are now dead) They replayed a clip of it to start this week's episode.
The dead that the King White Walker raised at the end are now the same wights/zombies. They still have their flesh for now, but as they go on, the flesh will decay and they'll start to look like the skeletons or zombies that attacked them. I'm not sure on the blue eye thing. I'd have to go back and look to see if all the wights have had blue eyes (probably not). Or they could just be blue when they are raised up. More likely they probably just did for effect in the show.
