Wine is like tennis racquets, used to be a time where the cheap racquets at Meijers were so awful you couldn't compete against someone with a nicer racquet. With the advancement in materials and stringing the cheap racquets now a days you can go out on the courts and you won't embarrass yourself.

Same with wine, you can get a really good bottle for around 10-15 compared to the old days.

If there's no  Trader Joe's close to you then check Rite Aid.   They carry 5 Oaks brand usually 2/$7-2/$8, and pretty darned drinkable for that price.

We got a box of this weak wine. 5 L should do the trick for 2 though.

That site brings back some great memories. I began my foray into alcohol way back in 9th grade, when a friend (I'll call him John) swiped a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20. Or maybe it was Boone's Farm. Either way, we tilted it back and downed the bottle and I'm pretty sure neither of us has stopped drinking in the multiple decades since.

We used to get cheap moscato in college. It's a little too sweet for me but chicks seemed to like it and who doesn't like drinking cheap wine with a bunch of college chicks?

I used to bong Franzia at State with some girls that lived in my dorm freshman year. They freaking loved Franzia, and the fact that I was the only guy willing to bong that shit.

Also got iced with a box of Franzia once and chugged it. Covered my friend's yard in puke that night.

You still in EL? The QD on grand river used to have some medium sized Carlo Rossi that were and insane deal but nobody really payed attention to them. Something like a buck more than the 1.5L for 3L. Might still have some of you ask.

I always thought Yellow Tail is a good bang for your buck for cheap wine.

There's some stuff called Fortissimo that's not too bad and pretty cheap.  My off-the-boat Italian in-laws introduced me to it, though it's made in California.  Comes in a gallon jug for $15-20.

You can get cheap white wine, decent, drinkable stuff, pretty much anywhere. Look for the 2/$10 stuff at the grocery market, buy one, and give it a whirl. Chances are it's halfway decent.

Cheap red wine, decent, drinkable red, well, that's another story. I'll hang up and listen.

I think the exact opposite - although I highly prefer red to begin with.

Best wine for the buck: 120 Santa Rita, Chilean Cab. Getting it for $6.99 and its experience is double that.

Never been a wine drinker but started dabbling in it recently. My palate is not refined enough for the expensive stuff.

Tom Gore 2014 (Cab) for $14.99 is very tasty.
