Stocks to Trade
TWTR is in a free fall again, apparently because people on the inside given options have their first chance to sell today. Buying opportunity, falling knife or "Keep this shit off tSwill"?
Long @ $34.42.

Good topic - was thinking about starting one myself.
TWTR getting crushed today but looks like there is some resistance at 34 at the moment - has bounced back a bit from that low a few times today. Analysts hate it, though. It's ratings are about as bad as Sears.

I'm looking at it as a short term trade... if this is "all" the lock up period selling" that was bound to happen can take it down... well, I;m not that impressed. FB went up 100% after the lockup period expiration. SHLD

Not whats affecting today's trading action but a good reason not to buy it as an investment.

Re: Stocks to Trade
Since we're all ballers here, I thought I would seek opinions on where to get good, timely investment info other than Bloomberg, etc.
I signed up on Seeking Alpha last week and like the information quality, but the sheer volume seems a bit excessive. Maybe I need to fine-tune my settings.
Any other good sources out there?

It really depends on your style and what you are doing. As far as investing goes, I keep it simple, you really can't beat Vanguard 500 Index Fund Investor Shares... For trading, it really comes down to doing what you know. I know successful traders that trade on technical data, charting, news, herd emotion. The important thing is to trade what you know and in a way that works with your brain. The best trades I have ever made have been because I knew about what was being traded. Example, GM bankruptcy. Grew up in Detroit, know a lot about GM and while people outside of Detroit questioned if they would get a bailout, no one here did. People were dumping $20 face value bonds for $2... Bond holders get paid in bankruptcy. Made 4x off of those in about a month with virtually zero risk. Some things have obvious cycles like Natural Gas, blah blah.
Anyway, I would learn the fundamentals of trading stocks, bonds and options, the how, not the why then focus on industries/sectors you know well. Then decide how much of your brain processes financial data, charting, sentiment, news, etc.
One of the best trading tools I have is the Dow Jones News Wire but thats me...

Well, if you're still in you are up 10% and 4% on the day. Pretty good day all around today.
Was planning to dive into USLV this morning but have an aversion to buying in on a 7% daily gain. Will wait for a crappy day and try to get in below 41-42.

Re: Stocks to Trade
I survived the trailing stop by $0.02. I will dump 1/2 to cover the earlier loss and let the rest ride until the battle that will happen @ $35. I sense it MAY get 30-35 range bound but who knows.
I trade silver etfs a lot... mostly to the short side when the time us right. Remember its poor mans gold so its really fickle AND its an industrial, not a precious metal...
