I would appreciate it if they won with a margin between 9 and 14 points.

OSU fans were the biggest aholes I ever encountered in Spartan stadium. I tooted for them to win the natty but I will be against them for at least the next 10 years

Pribably. So I won't get too worked up about it. But MSU or OSU will have the clout regardless if they take care of their own business

Been to Columbus twice. They were real nice to us in 91 after they kicked our ass. 98 was a different story

They themselves lost this game last year. Wasn't a bad thing for either team. Just win baby and everything will take care of itself. Toot for whoever you want. It won't matter.Other Teams Pursuing That wrote:Wouldn't it be a bad thing for us if they lost?

Delany's Big Ten has made it difficult for me to root for the teams he has given special treatment to. The Buckeyes deserve much attention obviously, but Delany does a poor job promoting other schools like MSU and Wisconsin when they would benefit from it.

Time for the sport to evolve. The reliance on a blue blood to help your conferences reputation is pure bullshit.
The PAC, B12 and SEC have embraced new comers at the top and its time for the B1G to do the same. I'd love an era of anyone but Michigan, Ohio State, Nebraska or Penn State sitting at the top. I hope those teams finish 0-4 week 1.

Va Tech was 6-6 (7-6 with bowl) last year and is unranked now taking on the first ever undisputed #1 (even without a QB named)
Still probably osus 2nd toughest game of the year

Ok. If Braxton is making those types of catches then just hand them the title now

9/7 @ Virginia Tech
9/12 vs Hawaii
9/19 vs Northern Illinois
9/26 vs Western Michigan
10/3 @ Indiana
10/10 vs Maryland
10/17 vs Penn State
10/24 @ Rutgers
11/7 vs Minnesota
11/14 @ Illinois
11/21 vs Michigan State
11/28 @ Michigan
Unless they beat themselves, there's only our game on that schedule

No first week rust for Ohio State. Wow. I wonder when Barrett gets in, and how short of a leash he has.

It might be more helpful (in the 4 team playoff world) if Va Tech loses.

Re: Tooting for OSU?
I'm not sitting here with my scarlet foam finger or anything, part of me would love to see them lose. But you're kidding yourself if you think OSU losing is in the best interest of MSU. It is decidedly not. We can still make the playoff with 1 loss if it's in the Shoe against the undefeated defending national champs. We cannot make the playoff with 1 loss in the Shoe if OSU has a loss like this on their schedule.
Yes if we beat OSU it won't matter. But it's nice to have backup contingencies should they be needed.

Aint no time to be developing a back up plan. Time to lay your ass on the line for the Hokies.

Scot Loeffler, VaTech's OC looks like he watched MSU vs OSU '13 Big Ten Championship. The TD to end the half looked a lot like the Cook to Price score in the 4th quarter.
