AB inBev makes offer to buy SABMiller

Talk about taking over your retail beer sections. AB inBev already owns all the Budweiser brands (about 10 of them), Busch, Michelob, Rolling Rock, Shock Top, Goose Island, major imports Corona, Becks, Stella Artrois about 12 other small labels including at least 1 or 2 ciders.

MillerSAB has the Miller brands, Leinenkugels and owns 58% of Coors.
If this is allowed to go through they will push out a lot of independents with buying even more cooler/shelf space than they have in the past and the same will go for bars.

They've ruined a lot of the brands they bought out as well. I bought a six pack of Bass Ale the other year on sale. Opened up a bottle, took a sip and spit the mouth full of beer right out into the sink. I thought I was going to puke it was that bad.

I looked at the label and saw it was brewed in New York. Didn't taste anything like the Bass Ale that was brewed in England. I think they did the same thing to Becks as well.

Unless they suddenly start making good beer , they won't be able to shut out the growing micro brews, and their market share, while still ridiculously huge, will continue to shrink.
