Izzo mentioned again... Golden State
Can't see him packing up and moving 1000 miles, but this team has more potential and Cleveland w/o Lebron.
"If the Warriors look to the college ranks, Iowa State's Fred Hoiberg and Connecticut's Kevin Ollie are rising stars in the profession. Lacob, who insisted NBA coaching experience is not a requirement, could also try to make a splash by luring a more tenured coach such as Michigan State's Tom Izzo to the professional ranks. Or, as was the case with Jackson, make another unconventional hire."

Once again. a team that just fired their coach who made the playoffs and lost to a higher seeded team in 7 games, isn't the job security that would impress Tom.

Every NBA coach is hired to be fired. Pretty sure Izzo knows that.

The only way he would jump to the NBA is if he got to coach a superstar (with a chance to win a title).
OKC?

Even those guys ultimately get fired. It's part of the deal.

OKC coach might get fired if he doesn't win a championship. I don't think Tom's goals have changed. He's not going anywhere.

Tom Izzo doesn't give a **** about a job security...he's too bad ass.
Tom Izzo will succeed at whatever he does in life.

Exactly and I think Izzo understand this. At the same time, I think he hasn't ruled out the NBA because he is intrigued by the challenge.
I'm not saying he will or should go but people who say "no way" have not been paying attention.

This and he has made more than enough $$ where he doesn't need to worry about job security. If he goes, it will be about the challenge.

It appears Jackson was fired because of his religious viewsWBill wrote:Once again. a team that just fired their coach who made the playoffs and lost to a higher seeded team in 7 games, isn't the job security that would impress Tom.

Any way we could put everything Izzo gets mentioned to the NBA in 1 thread? Or will someone start a new thread every time?

Even better, a place where they fire people for reasons federal law says you cannot fire.

Yep, the NBA, while finally having an entertaining play-offs, is becoming more known for this kind of thing. When Izzo was in attendance at GS a few weeks ago I will admit it raised an eye-brow because I hadn't really thought he attends games even to support his guys, but he's too damn smart to want to participate in such a shit showWBill wrote:

Now BeeLine is out there....
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA 3m
Two college coaches who intrigue NBA execs -- some who have openings, some who don't: Michigan's John Beilein and Virginia's Tony Bennett.

I could see it (I could also see Izzo at some point). But, Beilen doesn't have the scUM roots that Izzo has with MSU and the state of Michigan. Offensive minded coach too.
