No casinos or anniversary back then but everything else is familiar. Won a "Michigan Vacation" on a scratch off ticket in the mid 80's. Forget the 3-4 other Michigan destinations to choose from...picked Detroit. Three nights at the Renaissance Center (was a Westin property then), bunch of coupons for free meals at local restaurants (Bouzuki was belly dancing only then), and $500 cash.

It all worked to plan to propose to the wyff on the Detroit Star dinner cruise, cruising the Detroit River one evening.

After thought now, but that's when much of my life turned hideously/horribly wrong.
