He was great on Dragnet too, probably too early for you lads - Officer Bill Gannon.

Also did well as the Sheriff in John Wayne's final movie - the Shootist.

Morgan was born Harry Bratsberg in Detroit in 1915 and worked on stage before making his way to Hollywood.

I did not know this.

He was also a Muskegon Big Red.
