It was all right. Cars aren't really my thing. It was also my mom's birthday (well, tomorrow.) we had cake. It was good cake.

They've been wanting me to date that chick for a long time turtleneck. It's a bit of a story.

I watched X-Files since the series premier in August of 1993. Full disclosure I honestly liked The Adventures of Brisco County Jr, which premiered in the hour slot right before X-Files (and the theme of all my avatars) even better, but it never lasted past the first season. I stuck around for the X-Files, though. The first season is a masterpiece.

Re: X files is back
The X-Files was must watch TV at our house on Fridays. The VCR was programmed so we'd never miss an episode.
Tonight was a nice start to what will hopefully be a good run of 6 new episode with updated time lines. I hope this is successful enough to get another short run every year or two.
Maybe the networks have finally figured out after seeing the success of British short series tv like River on Netflix that not everything has to be 22-24 weeks.

Re: X files is back
I thought I saw something that for this "re-opening" of the X-files, that they would mix some mythology episodes with some of the random one-off episodes about some supernatural thing unrelated to the whole alien/conspiracy. I hope what I heard was incorrect, because if you've only got 6 episodes, shouldn't they all be linked? There aren't so many episodes that you need filler.GRR Spartan wrote:The X-Files was must watch TV at our house on Fridays. The VCR was programmed so we'd never miss an episode.

But I thought it was a solid start. The way the last few seasons went, I wasn't expecting much, so it was better than I thought. They should have ended it after the first movie like they had planned all along, but $$$ spoke and they had to figure out a way to keep milking it. The smoking man having to smoke the cig through the ventilator in his neck was awesome.

Re: X files is back
The plan was to have an epic 3 hour special effects laden movie released on December 22, 2012 about the predicted alien invasion, thus allowing Mulder and Scully to save the world one last time...
but Fox wouldn't green light it after the series sputtered to an end and "I want to Believe" died at the box office...
So now we have a 6-episode mini-series 3 years later retrofitting the mythos with Alex Jones and FEMA camps.

He seems like he's channeling his Hank Moody character a little bit. I still liked it a lot. The story was pretty good, I liked the special effects and it ended on a good cliff hanger.
For network television I give it high marks.

Yep he's totally doing the Hank Moody thing. That was actually the only disappointing part and it wasn't even that disappointing (loved Hank Moody)... Hopefully serious Fox comes back and the stars will align.

I was entertained. I will watch the rest tonight. I always liked looking at Gillian Anderson in her agent Scully wardrobe back in the day. I liked her look last night. Her lips aren't as plump as they used to be and her face looks a little thinner, but I'm just an old man that prefers an older woman like her so back off bitches!

It was funny when he first saw Sveta in her house, he gave off that Hank Moody vibe like they'd be balling later.

Unshaven, casual jacket... All he needed was a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and for that jacket to be leather with a black t shirt waiting for Runkle to bail him out of jail on statutory rape charges....
Maybe some of the broads he was banging will make an appearance in the X-Files. Yummmm...

That was a great show. Sure it had some unbelievable plot holes that were hard to accept, but it had some really good characters and a lot of laughs. Oh yeah, and some hot T&A!
