Actually somehow I forgot about 2004 losing to Nevada. So Izzo has 4 Final Fours and 4 first round exits in the last 15 seasons, but I'm not allowed to talk about the number 4 any more so I'll be quiet.

Edit: Shoot and 2002 to NC State. I am losing track now. I think I blocked out some of those memories and forgot Izzo lost in the first round this much.

A total of five first round losses since he first made the Tournament in 1998. Coach K has rouglhy the same number of first round exits since he started in 1980, but three since 2007 (lost to #15 Lehigh in 2012, #14 Mercer in 2014, and #11 VCU in 2007). It is going to happen when you make the Tournament every year for closing in on two decades. I am not sure what Moose is trying to prove with this one. If it is that Izzo has not been successful in the Tournament, well, Moose is arguing against the world.

Kentucky lost the other day. Syracuse has been bounced early. UNC went to the NIT a few years back. Single elimination tournament teams get knocked out early all the time. It sucks we lost but it is not the end of the world.

Duke has lost as a #2. So has Syracuse, Arizona, and Georgetown. It sucks and it rarely happens. But it does happen.

So maybe...Two years not making the NCAA tournament, 18 straight years of making the Tournament, five first round exists, one second round exit, four Sweet 16 exits, 2 Elite Eight exits, five Final Four exits, one title game loss and one title game win.
