Some states have some type of haven laws. I think Nebraska has one. Where you can drop your newborn off without fear of prosecution. I believe they are designed so that instead of endangering the infant, the state has said they will take care of the child.

like if the kid has a beard or there's evidence of a hip replacement or corrective eyewear.. they might charge you 10 cents/day.
