Zappa plays Zappa

Anybody ever see Dweezil play his dad's songs? I'm going to see him tonight, I'm pretty pumped for it.

Did you see the piece in the freep the other day? Another family fighting over the fortune left when their parents died. Seems the Zappa progeny aren't any different from other bratty rich kids.

I had not seen the article, but one of my friends that I'm going to the concert with filled me in on the details and the reason it's called "Dweezil Zappa Plays Whatever the Fuck He Wants - Cease and Desist Tour" rather than just "Zappa Plays Zappa," like it used to be.

Yep. That's covered in the article. He and Moon got less from the trust than the youngest two kids, and mom put the youngest male in charge of the trust. It does sound like mom put one last FU to the two oldest. BTW, the trust is millions in the red right now, but eventually stands to make tens of millions.

Great show. I was very impressed by the non-Dweezil people on the stage, and Dweezil played the shit out of an SG. They played a huge 80s medley (non-Zappa stuff) that was fucking tremendous. Solid 2 hours, no breaks, hardly any time wasted between songs. Dweezil didn't change guitars at all, which I've never seen from a professional guitarist before.
