Michigan State University gets $2 million to boost bridge research
Somebody speculate on the Lansing area anonymous couple. I bet it's Mr. and Mrs. tGreenway. Definitely not a Sakimano thing, since bike paths aren't the focus of the study.
EAST LANSING — Michigan State University is getting $2 million to enhance research on the nation's transportation infrastructure, specifically its bridges.
A Lansing-area couple designated money from their estate to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering to fund an endowed faculty chair with an emphasis on bridge research. It is the largest single donation ever given to the department.

The headline made me wonder how Blanch convinced them to take his GF.

If we had gotten this endowment earlier, perhaps the Farm Lane bridge wouldn't have collapsed and SparTodd would still be with us. RIP.

Wish I could take credit, but the gratitude should be conveyed elsewhere. I do think it was a great idea.

$5.3 million donation to engineering school
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A graduate of Michigan State University who relied on a scholarship in the 1960s to help complete his college education is giving $5.3 million gift to the school's College of Engineering.
The East Lansing school announced Tuesday that the donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, will use cash and estate planning for the gift so endowed scholarships may be offered. The school says the donor grew up on a Michigan farm and is a successful entrepreneur.

Dumb. That money should go to FB or BB. What a waste.

Good for them. MDOT hires boatloads of engineers from MSU so this should help longterm for Michigan bridges.

What is the FB's team record? That is more important than jobs.

Maybe that money could be used to hire real coaches like Harbaugh or Saban. Will it cover the costs of scrapping the program?
