An Open Letter to My Haters

It's 2022 and I've lived through decades of people like Bob Wojnowski making a dishonest living dumping on Michigan State in a major city newspaper. I've lived for decades with hacks like Myth Albom fluffing up Michigan coaches and making them out to be gods on Mount Olympus. I've seen our own Spartan beat writers poop their diapers and bite the hand that feeds them in order to appease the Wolverine trash that hates them and will never respect them. Last weekend I saw a trash fanbase boo and jeer our injured players....the hate is everywhere.

Since the 80's when I realized I liked the Spartans I was told it was 'Moo U' and shamed for liking the school. I was told that people that couldn't get into UofM have to settle for Michigan State. I was taught to deny my feelings that I have for MSU and taught that how I felt was wrong.

On Saturday October 29th, 2022 I saw the same forces I've encountered my entire life try to trash eight fine young men (even the helmet chucker). If I was walking through that dangerous tunnel after a hard fought, clean game and had some punk skipping threatening me I'd haul off and sock em. Is it the right thing to do? No, violence is never the answer. As the great Bob Dylan put it "But even the president of the United States Sometimes must have to stand naked". At some point we are all judged.

I've been tumbling around the internet for quite some time, blown around by the forces of wind just stopping wherever I can across various platforms to find Spartans and form friendships. Over the years I've learned that when times are tough we stand together. Part of our large Spartan family needs us and that's why I stand with the Spartan eight (even the helmet chucker) and hope to see them back on the football field.

I know this day and age people identify as he, she, they, them and I'm even told by popular podcasts that sometimes people even identify as cats. FFS I don't care if people identify as a goddamn squirrel - the one thing that is clear to me is who I am. It is exactly who I've been my entire life and I won't ever suppress it again. I am a Spartan. Again and even louder I AM A SPARTAN! I've never been prouder to say it.. Always have been and always will be so fuck you Bob Wojnowski, fuck you Paula Lavigne and fuck you Jim Harbuagh. Go Green!

This board has the same issues that TOB has regarding group think, just a different group of poohbahs in control, and not all of them are liberals. Heat Miser is the Trevor Barnes of this board.

I love TOB and I love the Swill. Thank you Trevor and Heat Miser for giving us a space on the web for our Spartan Community. I love MSU twitter as well and have kept up with so many Spartan’s stories. I’ve seen Spartans announce engagements, share their vacation pics or post fun pics from the games. I have drawn inspiration from the courage of Chad Latz and Steven DiVitrie to share their stories. The good I see every day far outweighs the bad. Go Green!
