I just don't see that happening..
I was happy when I woke up and realized it was a dream.

Bullshit.
You were having a flashback to standing in line for your copy of the new Harry Potter book.

Did the optometrist ask you "#1 or #2", but they were both the same? I hate that.

I just got glasses for the first time in my life. They really cut down on the eye strain from using computers.

I didn't get glasses for the first time until I was probably about 30. I didn't realize how much I needed them.. I sort of felt like one of those people who go to religious events and the guy hits them on the forehead and they get up out of their wheelchair and start dancing..Motown Spartan wrote:I just got glasses for the first time in my life. My experience hasn't been that extreme. I have never had vision problems but started getting headaches late in the day and found it difficult to focus my eyes going back and forth between the computer screen and anything written/typed/printed on paper. New glasses are bifocals, no prescription on the top half, slight magnification on the bottom with blue light filtering lenses. Haven't had a headache or eye strain since.

I was 44. Wife asked me to get a map out in the car and read it on a trip. (yep, 10 years ago, no gps motherfuckers.) I said "Shit, who spilled water on this map, all the words are blury". Couldn't read the fine print. She told me I was full of shit. Stopped and got readers. Progressively worse since.
Just this month I got Oakley Trifocal sunglasses, and some RayBan regular trifocals. I'm all set.

You guys are lucky. I got glasses my freshman year of high school. They've been getting progressively worse throughout the years. Not quite Bubbles bad, but they are definitely getting thicker. Not that it really matters much. I always wear contacts in public, except for maybe a quick weekend run to the grocery store.
Weird story, if there are any doctors you tell me. Lost my dad last year, but he got glasses in his 40's for reading. His eyes got worse and the prescriptions got stronger. In his 60's both retnas became detached at different times and they were both reattached up at Munson hospital in T.C. Not that big of a deal I guess. However, about 4 years ago he was 76, I go home and notice he's at the kitchen table reading the news paper without glasses. I say "hey dad, what's up you have contacts?". He said funniest thing but for the last couple of years his eyes seemed to get better and he could read without them. I'm like WTF? Is that possible? Sure as shit, he could though. I was thinking it had something to do with the opperations. Who knows.

Sr year of HS for me. I tried contacts of and on for a few years, but generally hated them. Didn't get much worse over the years, but at the ripe old age of 49 I got diagnosed with cataracts. Two years later I had surgery and went from nearsighted to farsighted. Now all I need is drug store reading glasses.

No glasses for me yet, but both my parents and my older sister all have glasses/contacts, so I'm assuming my days are numbered.

5th grade here. My eyes are crap. Am seeing a specialist in grand rapids because I have blood vessels growing all over my eyes. The drops he has me on are helping. Have a hard contact fitting on Tuesday. I hated hard contacts when I had them before.

I don't know whose story the 2nd paragraph is, but it somehow ended up in my post. I'm blaming Travis.
