Dude, I saw that the other day. Made me cry, too.
What a great man that is. He's going to set the foundation some future fantastic young men.
That's the type of guy I want teaching my child in every class.
I had a teacher like that in high school. Sooooo charismatic, he was a legend in the area and then moved on because he was that desired they offered him too much to refuse. I constantly remind myself lessons that man taught me. This may give it away to any south Lansing area folks pre-1998 but he looks exactly like that gentleman minus the beard.

You sound a little bit better X, keep it up. And keep on fishing. Great time to unwind.

Goooooood. Waiting for the resorts to open back up so I can shred again. Thinking about trying snowboarding this coming season. Feel like there's a higher ceiling with snowboarding.
Raging at red rocks Thursday and then Friday downtown. Friend in town is in mid road trip around the US. Did I read you were fishing X? Rivers lakes? Sorry if I missed this. Just jumped in to the thread.

Thanks, brotha. It's a real shame how I've squandered this opportunity. Next summer was supposed to be house hunting (still not sure what I'm going to do) but I won't be here after next summer so very little fishing has been done thus far. It's billed as a walleye lake, some nice perch were caught this winter ice fishing (I really want to get into that if we can get a real winter this year). We were catching keeper sunfish and juvenile bass a few smaller perch. But I forgot to bring the real stuff, I brought my backpacking setup so it's all basically trout stream gear. I don't know my hook sizes but very small, 4 lbs line, etc.

Fuck yeah, cut some snow man. I could never get the hang of it but I do enjoy traditional and cross country (some trails around here I plan on hitting up)

Party it up dude, be careful and make sure to drink enough water if you get into any extra curricular activities.
Well fishing wasn't exactly what started this thread. Roc is a kind gentleman and was checking up on me, been a rough couple of weeks for X, but then we got to start talking about philosophy a little which is always fun, and now talking about the fishing on the lake I live on near GR.

Thanks everybody for being civil. X, your parents were quite elderly, right? If they are who I think they are, they seemed like really nice people. One (tiny) condolence I might take from it was that they passed together and neither had to deal with some long drawn out illness of the other, or had to be alone after the other was gone. It sucks that they won't get to meet your daughter, but there's that... Is that something?

I appreciate that. No, they weren't elderly. They were retired but definitely wouldn't be considered elderly by any means.

You're telling me, fuggedabboutit. Been good for my tomatoes and cucumbers.... no luck on habaneros this year. One poblano.
But I haven't had a good winter in a long time and I want Michigan to just take a big burrito fueled shit on us this year. I got all these trails around me and we get barely any snow this past year. What's a mick to do?

as I recall, last winter was decent.. a few good snows. Got to do a lot of shoveling, which is always a plus.xsanguine wrote:Robert J Sakimano wrote:yeah, man I'm good - been good summer filled with fun, activity and leisure. A few trips here and there. Just what X needs to clear his head - a snug little cabin in the woods.
Cozy cabin in the woods
