The whole plan is stupid. Dumping Maybin was pretty much throwing in the towel and waving the white flag. If they had kept him and figured out a way to find a bp arm they might have won the wild card spot in 2017. At this point they should dump Verlander and Cabrera if there are any takers.

Verlander and Kinsler to the Dodgers
Cabrera to the Astros
JD Martinez to the Yankees

Load up with prospects and take $$$$ off the books. 2019 have a young team ready to compete for the central division. If you are going to hold onto Verlander and Cabrera, then buckle up for 5-6 years of mediocrity.

He adds depth, but then again Kinsler is an iron man. I can only think of a couple of games where he sat last season.

Wild guess, but maybe we see him at 1st base for depth. Cabrera has been injury prone and he might be a better back up option than what we have. The again we picked up Avila and he wasn't terrible covering first base.
