What's your favorite game day food?
I want to be snacking all day (obviously) but also want a meal. What should I go with? Is Mexican lame for football? But who GAF - this is for myself. Some nachos, burritos or tacos?
Not a ton of prep but a good amount to feel like I actually did something, ya know?

Make a nacho cheese dip. Burger (I use venison but you can use cow), onions (brown then throw in burger to brown) valveeta (1 or 2 #), con queso (tall jar), tomato sauce (short can). Put on tortilla chips with green peps, jalepnos, Tommy toes, and sour cream and salsa for nachos. Or just dip chips directly.

Potatoes, carrots, and cabbage don't go on tacos.
Get a 3-5 lb. butt. Bone in. Cut it up in 6-8 pieces. Throw some kosher salt on it. Throw it in one of these:
Put it in the oven for 3-4 hours. 300 degrees. Buy a Spanish/yellow onion. Cut it in quarters. Throw it in with an hour or so to go. Throw in some garlic at the same time if you want.
When's it done, shred it a bit and slap it on some flour tortillas. Make some salsa or guac. Lettuce? Beans? Whatever.
Easy.

Re: What's your favorite game day food?
Not a bad idea Nigel. Except get the little corn tortillas that you warm on the stove. Flour is for burritos. I used some leftovers from a roast last time to do that. Picked up some Pico de gal at the store that had lime juice in it for a nice little topping.
How much does a three pounder make? At least two meals I'd imagine.

True. Pork might make the flour tortilla a little soggy (as a taco). Plenty of leftovers depending on how big of a party OTPT is having. Can freeze extra, or use it for sandwiches or mix it up with his potatoes, carrots, and cabbage later.

Not a party. Maybe 2-3 others but this weekend is OTPTfest minus the raging. Football, bowls, and some grub.
Thanks Nigel, maybe I'll post some pics of whatever disaster I attempt to make.

It's literally the easiest thing you can make (that tastes really good).
If you want to check it every hour and flip the pieces around...cool.
Take the pork out piece by piece and kind of shred it up. Dump the liquid and leftover junk through a strainer into a bowl, and then dump the juice back into the pork.

I'm guessing he doesn't have a Dutch oven though you could do it without (it just won't be as good IMO).

A one pot recipe is a good, easy starter option as well.

LOL! You crack me up sometimes OTPT. If you don't know then you most likely don't have one. A 5-6 Qt sauce pan or pot will be your alternative IMO.
