O'Connor has been given his shot and hasn't played at a D1 level. Not only that, but he seems to bring the rest of the team down because his passing and decision making are so poor. Lewerke came in and the whole attitude of the team changed. Lewerke can escape, is calm both in the pocket and when he's scrambling. The bottom line is that the D1 game is too fast for O'Connor, but Lewerke looks very comfortable. It looks like the team has little confidence in O'Connor, and a great deal of confidence in Lewerke. O'Connor has been given a fair chance to succeed but it's clear that his football career is over. Time to move on to Lewerke.

If MSU kicked the two FGs instead of coming away empty-handed both times, it would have been a 1 point game.
