I think it's legit actually. My older neighbors who also have a sprinkler system had one in the 750 range. Our yard is bigger and we have 4 people in our house. Unit price went up this year. Fucking Obama.

A good start would be limiting showers to every other day only and capping them at 5 minutes. Anybody that tries to shower two days in a row or goes over 5 minutes gets punched in the face, or maybe has to live on the streets for a week.

So if I buy one, I can use the special screwdriver to come get yours too.

It's bi-annual. And obviously (here) quite a bit more in the summer.
Fuck I also have a small pond (like 4' x 4' x 4' deep) that I had to drain and refill 2-3x this year for various reasons.

Do you raise catfish in that pond for an emergency food supply?

What's your electric bill?
Winter $100-125 because of the furnace optimist
Other seasons $75-$100
Electric dryer & hot water in addition to the well

No, but Son#2 does. Heats his house and hot water in the winter. Go out in the National
Forest with a $20 permit and get enough wood to heat both all winter. Helluva deal.

I did at my former place but this house uses so little gas I don't bother. Last year I
only bought around 400 gallons of LP so now the gas company wants to charge me
rent for their tank. I told them the day they came to collect that bill bring a truck
and a check for their tank and my gas. Haven't heard back from them.
I last filled in April and a week ago I was still at 63% so I'm good until mid Jan, then
that tank will get me through the winter.

Re: I got this Ring doorbell
It is the sprinkler system that causes the problem. We built our house and we have separate meters for the house and sprinkler system. Both meters were new and read 0 when installed. About three times as much water has run through the sprinkler system. I don't want to think what the bill would be if I had to pay sewer charges on the sprinkler.Turtleneck wrote:WhiteBoyHatcher wrote:I think it's legit actually. Re: I got this Ring doorbell
^^yep
My next store neighbor in between us and 750ish guy has no sprinkler system and his was just under 5. I also ran my sprinklers like a maniac this summer because my front lawn started dying and I didn't know what to do. Somehow that didn't keep the lawn from dying anyway and now I have a thousand dollar water bill. Go figure.

Either, they just have to be dead. Every resident of Michigan can cut 5 full cords, so 15 face cords for that permit.

We used ot get the wood for our cabin that way back in the 70's. Helps the forests out too by removing the deadwood fuel to slow down fires.

Correct. The suppression of which caused/causes the majority of wild fires

Nordy, you don't even have wiring for a doorbell? It is nice to be able to use the live view.
Never really realized it till now, nope, just checked, no doorbell. Not even a broken one, no buzzer at all.
Can I just open the app at any time, like when some knocks on my ghetto door?
I don't think I ever answered this.
So if you're not hard wired, then no, you can't use "Live View", which is a feature of the thing where you can click on it at any time and look through the camera. If you're on battery power, the camera only kicks on when someone rings the bell and you open the app (you get a notification on your phone and/or computer). It also records it and it shows up in the app for you to view later.

Why does she say "I'm bathing the children" in the ad? The line should have been "I'm cleaning my gun. Do you want to come in and see what the 2nd Amendment feels like?"

Really cool. I'm glad I bought it. My use case is kinda unique but I dig it.
You can hook it up standalone and it will run off of battery power. You can recharge the battery by removing the unit from the mounted plate. You download the app to your phone and/or your desktop. It configured pretty much automatically once you select your wifi network and type in the password. Someone rings it and it rings you on your phone and/or desktop via notification. You click on it, it immediately pulls up video. You can click on a talk button and talk to the person directly through the unit. Video and audio is decent.
The one thing I didn't realize (because I didn't do enough research #spaz) is that you need to have it hooked up electronically to your doorbell shit if you want to be able to just view live video. The battery isn't powerful enough on its own. But I got that taken care of and I can sit here in my TV room in the basement and click on the live view and watch it if I'm waiting for someone or whatever. Nice feature if you have a loud large dog and kids.
PSA.
What if your wife bought that for you for christmas? jesus dude

They are creepy surveillance devices. Unless they pick up aliens in the driveway. Then they are kinda cool.
