Beilein's buyout drops from $6M after this season and $5M after the 17-18 season.

After '17-'18 its very possible umaa buys out Beilein to get Crean more because Crean's marriage to Harbaugh's sister will outweigh Crean's recent record as IU's Head basketball coach.

...I think Beeline is beyond safe right now,. I can see next year as the beginning of the end losing Walton and Irvin. But then again he is actually a good coach and most of us think those players suck anyway

Some very vocal IU fans, like the guy with the Crean countdown, have wanted him gone since the second year he was there. I think the injuries buy him one more season. Then its possible he goes to umaa if jeem is as influential as some of us think he is.

umaa will have 60,000 football tickets sold to ease the $5M Beilein buyout and Crean's $1M buyout. IU's Memorial Stadium's rarely sold out 50,000 seats doesn't give them that kind of spending power

Surprised it happened this season but $4M evidently wasn't an impediment.

Beilein winning the Big Ten tournament has screwed up those who wanted to fire him 5-6 weeks ago.

Wonder who IU has lined up since it shouldn't have mattered if they fired Crean today of waited until next Monday or Tuesday after the Rd of 16 was set.

I have a UM alum buddy who's pissed they won the BTT. He thinks Beilein isn't the long-term solution and says he wins just enough to continually save his job but never wins anything of consequence. That's kinda hard to argue.

I think Alford's buyout is $7.8 million. I don't see that happening.

Played for Bobby (for awhile), went to the Championship game with Mike Davis as Coach, then was an assistant there.

I'm guessing IU fans want a more high profile name/coach.

Stevens signed a long term extension in Jun '16 half way through his original $22M/6 yr deal. Donovan is in year 2 of his $30M/5 yr deal with the Thunder. Neither are in jeopardy of losing their jobs in the near future.

Xavier and NC-Wilmngton can't compete with IU's BTN backed money. Don't think IU AD and fans see Fife as a seasoned HC to take over what they think they have.
