Interesting thought. Any team expecting Hoyer to be a healthy starter for more than about six games is begging for trouble.

I've seen the speculation and the draft mocked that way (with Cousins going to SF for the #2 pick). That seems like a lot to pay for Cousins (in addition to most likely having to give him an extended contract for big $). I'd ask for the #17 pick back from Washington.

Amazing. It shows how difficult and unique that position is. Also why the men who master it can play into their late 30's. That and NHL goalie are two of the most unique tough positions in sport

He's insurance. But, he might be insurance for a different QB than Cousins. SF could draft a QB now.

Hoyer has made 12.5 million in his previous 8 seasons.

No contracts can be signed until 4:00 pm today, so no one knows exactly what he agreed to, but reports are 6 million in guaranteed money for this year, and he could make up to 9 million with reasonable incentives.

That is not a back-up QB's contract. I not sure how you can pay that and sign Cousins for 24+ million.

The reality is Snyder and Kyle Shanahan hate each other, lots of bad blood from when his Dad was fired. I just do not see a trade happening between Washington and San Francisco.

My guess is that Hoyer starts this year for the 49ers. Cousins signs his tender and is a free agent next year.

I doubt Hoyer has any guarantee past this year. In the end good for him, if he does well he will get paid next year.

If Cousins stays in Washington this seasons n he can go anywhere and Washington's only option would be a 3rd franchise tag for $34M. I think Washington will be working harder to trade Cousins as the draft approaches. Two Washington receivers, Garçon and Jackson are already gone.

Yeah, he pushed off. Right in the middle of the DB's chest. Even in that GIF you can kind of see it and you definitely see the change in direction of both. Guy didn't argue either if I recall. By the way, hes the same receiver who dropped two or three to kill hoyer drives.
