Detroiters - show on Comedy Central
From Executive Producers Lorne Michaels and Jason Sudeikis
Had not heard of this show until I saw Rick Mahorn tweet today that he made his acting debut on it. Decided to check it out. Just watched tonight's episode. It's pretty funny. Obviously filmed local, lots of local references.

Haven't seen any of the eps yet, but I read that it's been picked up again for another season.

Some episodes have been funny, some not at all. It definitely has potential. I like how there's a lot of jokes that only people from Michigan would know. But I was pleasantly surprised it got picked up for another season.
Pretty much if you have some low expectations for this show, and watch it, you will probably enjoy it.

Been watching since episode 1. I crack up but was surprised it got picked up for season 2 simply because of how many jokes are geared towards people from the Detroit area. Some guy in the state of Washington isn't going to get as many of the jokes as someone who grew up in the Detroit area in the 80s and 90s but I'm still glad it got renewed.

Re: Detroiters - show on Comedy Central
Just watched Epi 2. I watched the Mahorn episode and the Pilot last night.
I have kind of a goofy/fucked up sense of humor but I find this show really funny, Detroit references aside. The two guys are just such unparalleled dumb fucks. Cracks me up.
I had to google to be sure that was Theo Huxtable Jamal Warner. I'm like that can't be him, that guy looks mid 30's. It was Theo. Official age, 46. And probably would pass for younger than me in a lineup every time because I have raccoon circles under my eyes.

Yes I would think anyone would like it if they have the right sense of humor. The Detroit stuff is cool but it's just a backdrop for these two dumb asses trying to grow their advertising business.

I grew up on the west side. have a place there for the summer. I have this to say to any westsiders.
Don't fear Detroit. It has a shit load of stuff to offer. You 25-35 year olds, come as often as you can. Restaurants, casino's concerts etc. Make weekends out of it.
You'd like the show btw.

I dated a girl at MSU who was from GR. Her impression of how I grew up in Metro D was something akin to Boys in the Hood or Colors.
I'm from Birmingham.

I grew up in Sterling Heights. Here's a picture I took after school one day. #thuglyfeClarett's Folly wrote:DWags wrote:

It's funny you say that. I wish my parents took us to Detroit for games/activities. I grew up in Jackson, and my mom was too scared to head anywhere near there. Granted, she's a bit prejudice because she worked at the prison as a nurse for 30 years . So she judges everyone and says what crime they committed by looking at someone.
First time I ever came to metro Detroit was on my 19th birthday, and that was to meet my husbands parents (of course we were just dating then).

Re: Detroiters - show on Comedy Central
Shit is just funny.
You do not need a Detroit background to think it's funny. But for sure there are a lot of "Easter eggs" for those of us who grew up here. Mostly in the ads. Dietrich Furs. Mel Farr Superstar with Rick Mahorn.
I'm only on Epi 4 but I have no doubt they're going to trot out the Me and Dog want you to go to Telegraph Rd....right now.....get a good deal....at some point.
Probably Uncle Robinson, too.
Maybe the dude from Highland Appliance?
