Re: Kentucky Derby 2017
I poured big $$ into the long shots, the rough equivalent of lighting a cigar with it. The bright spot is that Patch has now dropped to 13-1.

That means McCracken is the pick to win and War Cry to place (or finish 2nd). You match those two horses together to get better payoff odds. By boxing you are actually betting on either to win and either to place. It doubles your risk and the amount you bet but gives you a better chance to win.
Also McCracken is known as a mudder (horse who does well in the mud or on a wet track). It has been raining in Louisville and the track is wet.

My plans today changed. I took your perfecta and added a trifecta with classic empire as my pops said he liked him.

Re: Kentucky Derby 2017
Another "Triple Crown" race where the winner's owners chose to forego the Kentucky Derby with a healthy horse so they could run their 3 year old with 6 weeks of rest while other horses and on 2 weeks rest.
Might be Always Dreaming and Lookin at Lee run better on sloppy tracks.

Re: Kentucky Derby 2017
I thought we'd see a 3 horse race between Always Dreaming, Demand Excellence and Lookin at Lee based on Lookin at Lee's strong stretch run at Churchill Downs and thinking Demand Excellence would have a better start today.
We learned Lookin at Lee ran last too long and ran out of race. Always Dreaming just ran awful once he had to run in the pack and got bumped.
Preakness is the shortest (1 & 3/16's) and based on the first two results I can't see anything close to a favorite for the 1 1/2 mile Belmont in 2 weeks regardless of track conditions. Wouldn't be shocked to find Always Dreaming and Cloud Computing sitting it out.
