It is a really nice gesture. Very cool. And here is another thing I don’t want to lose sight of. That guy thought so much of his son, and knew how much it meant to his son, that he did what he did to get to that game. And there are still really good people out there in the world.

I once went to a game in such a hurry that I still had my work phone in my pocket. Izzo never gave me free VIP tickets.

I once chewed off my leg that had an electronic tether on it just to see a Spartan basketball game, but coach Izzo didn’t give me any tickets. It was a bitch reattaching that leg, too, and it smells pretty funky.

Boeheim should be on that list. Also, nice belly, Calipari.

Oats buy out is $18 million.
But, it would have cost $30+ million to buy out Calipari.
Some rich guy at Kentucky just saved $12 million.

How many kids are really going to want to go play for Calipari at Arkansas? I mean, he accomplished so much with all the advantages at Kentucky.

Him and Pitino are whores.
After a while their shine wears off because they’re nomads and frankly kids can get a bag somewhere closer to home.
Good for him, he’s going to have family generational wealth. But I would bet a dollar to a doughnut. He never wins another national championship wherever he goes.

This is one of those win/win situations that UK’s AD didn’t think was possible on March 22 after the Wildcats lost to Oakland.
Calipari’s agent and UK’s AD Barnhart negotiate the $33M buyout to something more palatable and with some help from UK’s deep pocket boosters, a $10M-$20M buyout isn’t out of reach for a new coach who probably won’t be getting Calipari’s reported $8M+ annual salary.
Calipari went too long between Final Fours and just one Natty. In 15 years there’s 1 National Championship and no Final Fours in nearly a decade.
