Heartbreak: The Russian fantasy is just that.

(CNN)"The truth is, generally I look very sharp in jeans." -- Barack Obama, 2014.

While the statement wasn't one of then-President Obama's most important pronouncements during his time in office, it was one of the most questionable, from a truth perspective. Said to Ryan Seacrest during a radio interview in March of 2014, it was a response to Obama's critics, those who mocked his denimwear, which, according to years of photographic evidence, leaned toward ill-fitting, stone-washed, and extremely "Dad"-like.

He again wore jeans on Tuesday, this time while on vacation with his family in Bali, Indonesia. The look was a definite upgrade, but the jury's still out as to whether jeans are, or should be, his thing.

So what did the Times finally admit wasn’t true? That oft-repeated claim that “Seventeen” intelligence agencies assessed that Russia hacked the 2016 presidential election. Here’s what the paper had to say about that:

A White House Memo article on Monday about President Trump’s deflections and denials about Russia referred incorrectly to the source of an intelligence assessment that said Russia orchestrated hacking attacks during last year’s presidential election. The assessment was made by four intelligence agencies — the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Security Agency. The assessment was not approved by all 17 organizations in the American intelligence community.

This correction is a hugely significant admission because this lie was widely propagated for over the past nine months. It was repeated by every major media outlet, on talk show hosts like The View and even by Hillary Clinton during the final presidential debate. This “fact” that the left ran with was the basis of many smug headlines meant to shame those on the right criticizing the media’s use of anonymous sources in the Russia investigation. For example, this USA Today article from October 21, still on their website, says in the headline, “Yes, 17 Intelligence Agencies Really Did Say Russia Was Behind Hacking.”

People are still citing that whole "17" thing as true....like the Sarah Palin/Gabby Gifford thing once the lie is out there the lefties never give it up.

Are you aware of O'Keefe's history regarding selectively editing stuff, or are you just playing dumb?

Also, goose, I think you need to understand that this isn't going to be an overnight thing. There isn't going to be a pee tape coming where this all happens one day. It's a long term investigation. Calm down and give it some time. Saying there's nothing to the Kuschner it's pretty ridiculous, seeing as we know that he lied on security clearance forms. That's a big big deal by itself. It doesn't mean that it's all going to come tumbling down tomorrow, but it is a big problem that no one should just gloss over.

I lived through Watergate so I know how these things develop.   The difference is that usually in scandals they find evidence of wrong doing.  

I believe the tally is now at 14 or 15 Senior Dems that have come out and said there is nothing there.   They have to keep this alive because their dumb assed base has been brain washed that poor Hills had the election stolen from her by the Russkies.
