Why did Trump repeatedly lie yesterday?

Trump keeps weirdly claiming he has the votes to repeal Obamacare

All this, though, would apparently come as news to the bill’s author, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), who flatly stated that “we don’t have the votes” during a press conference Tuesday.

And indeed, with Sens. John McCain (R-AZ), Rand Paul (R-KY), and Susan Collins (R-ME) all publicly opposed to the bill, it seems that Trump’s claim to have the votes isn’t true. At least one of them would have to get on board for the bill to pass.

Nigel, trump even went so far to say the only reason the bill didn't pass is because there was one Senator in the hospital.  There were no Senators in the hospital during the health care repeal vote.  None.  

Couple this story of his lying out of his ass with the primary results in Alabama and if there were ANY doubts (and there shouldn't be any by this time) about the insanity of not only trump, but the entire base of the Republican party, you have to be completely fucking insane to believe all this bullshit.

Trump has been lying and getting away with it for decades.  He regulary lied to subcontractors and didn't pay them.  He's stiffed general contractors daring them to sue.  He's lied about the size and scope of projects from casinos to golf courses in the US and Europe.

He is very good at creating diversions.  The NFL being the latest.  The news media is following the latest shiney object while:
millions in Puerto Rico are without power, water, food, fuel or communications.  North Korea percolates
Mueller's Russia investigation picking up momentum
his son-in-law is indicted for preditory housing practices,
Son-in-law, Ivanka and several others are found to be using private emails
Several cabinet members using private charter flights
Ivanka and husband quietly cancel their China visit

Ah for the good old days where a President playing golf for 5-6 hours with the House Speaker at National CC was outrageous behavior.
