Whole thing, taken in one sitting, seems like the ref is a real dick.  Calls the cops says "he's not leaving till he has someone arrested".  Calls three technicals in the the last minute and Lyons team loses by 1 (they were up by 5), not that the game matters, or should it ever.  then, people testified the ref was swearing at fans during the game. After the game the ref gets in his truck and peels out flipping off the 7th grade team and coaches and bus.   

Should Lyons have just STFU and moved on?  Yep, but you can see how things can escalate.

While I agree with you about Lyons, I just want to add that it is rare, but I have seen an overly aggressive ref in my life at the high school level that wants to control everything, and refs with attitude.  Lyons needs to keep his yap shut, but at the same time, this ref should maybe hang em up and not ref anymore h.s. games.

Lyons is a fucking meathead. He even admitted as much, as if "I workout everyday brah" is a defense...lol. He was acquitted. But he obviously had some sort of inappropriate interaction with a ref. They didn't just pick him out of a crowd. Then he spouts off after the trial. Dude hasn't learned a single thing about how to STFU.

FWIW, I met this douche canoe once at his tailgate. He's Joe Rockhead and a career politician. Hopefully after his term is up he stays as far away from MSU as possible.
