and Draymond
If he gets this team to the finals, without Love in this game, it will be one spectacular accomplishment,
He's one assist away from another triple double, despite how crappy they shot in the first half.

I mean I wanted Boston to win because I'm sick of the Cavs and Lebron but both of these teams are pretty garbage. It's Lebron and sometimes Love and a bunch of scrubs vs. a Boston team that isn't quite ready yet and with some parts.

Going off the stat sheet if his teammates weren’t shooting so poorly Lebron would easily have the triple double. Probably would put up 15 assist. What an epic performance.

Who? Kyrie? Heyward? Boston is a very good team without them, they should be a beast next year. (If Kyrie can stay healthy)
Cleveland is pretty much Lebron and the Pips, team totally changed with the mid-season trade.

Meh. James has built a career on a horrifically bad Eastern conference.

Ty Lue has a better win percentage in the playoffs, more finals appearances and a championship ring.

Take a deep breath everyone. Kingston and steve both. Jeez. There is no daunting team in the east and there hasn't been for a long time, true. Lebron is great and has had a great performance in these playoffs and taken a team of scrubs to the finals. I don't really think winning this game or "getting" to the finals says a whole lot for Lebron or his legacy.
If he beats Golden State, sure. Dude is about to go 2-5 in the finals. He's the most physically talented player to ever play. Let's stop short of calling him Jouwanna Mann because he beat Al Horford, rookie Jayson Tatum and the Celtics juggernaut.

Found myself rooting for Cleveland and not just because of my bet. LeBron is awesome. Boston was as bad of a conference finals opponent I've seen though

Hey maybe the east is weaker. I tend to agree. Either way what Lebron did was incredible. Has a garbage team and took them this far. His fade away three pointers he was hitting in game six were off the charts. To win game 7 on the road against a team that has held home court this far is pretty good. Pretty pretty good.

8 years a row in the finals, even in a shitty division, is still impressive, especially when you consider the quality of some of his teams.

Re: 2017/18 NBA Season Thread
I'm not going to try to discredit Bron. I'm just saying tap the brakes a little that beating this Celtics team is some sort of great accomplishment.
I don't think anyone with any sort of objective opinion would argue that James is probably the most physically talented player to ever play the game. Great great player. Not so great teams. Complicated legacy that is still being written.
I get a little sick of the rush to anoint in the social media age.

I agree his supporting cast is suspect but let's not forget the role he plays in that equation.

Well I'm not going to get into an argument where you say old guy is old, because I'm not that old. I'm just a little bit older than you and I saw some things that you didn't, and in 10 years you're going to be telling 20 year olds that this amazing guy with a receding hairline who was 2-5 or 2-6 in the NBA finals was the best player ever and they're going to be all like yeah fuck that you're old and bitter and Zion Williamson averages a quadruple double and has triple the Instagram followers that Lebron ever had.

WBH, the problem with these discussions is somebody has to be “the best” and it makes everybody incredulous about who we think is that guy. But greatness is fucking greatness and some guys have it. LeBron has greatness. Jordan did. Oscar Robertson Kobe they all have greatness. Who cares where they’re ranked amongst themselves. We are witness to this greatness. Enjoy it.

Regarding the receding hairline, kudos to Lebron for letting it go naturally. And let’s never forget MJ made the dome popular. And Kareem was the first! Screw Larry Bird and his curly mullet and screw dr j with that thick 70s fro. Kareem, MJ and Lebron bald brothers for life.

I don't disagree with any of it. I'm not the guy making the proclamations, I'm the guy saying not so fast because I am incredulous at others making the proclamations. I'm so sick of the goat acronym.

Don't you see the hair transplant scars on LeBron? Long scars across the back of his head where they harvested.steveschneider wrote:Regarding the receding hairline, kudos to Lebron for letting it go naturally. Unfortunately looks like the plugs didn't take very well.

I didn’t notice it. Does look like he may have a light layer of hair plugging going on but he has thinness on top, a widows peak and the start of a bald circle back there.
