That was pretty funny. Draymond tried to help Harden up, Harden refuses, Day Day says fuck you then, and Harden kinda shoves him.

It seems to me it is but I'm probably more emotionally invested in GS than I was in either team last night.
Honestly the thought of a Cle/Hou final doesn't interest me at all.

Yeah I don't even understand. That was a lot of fun. Let's see what happens in the 4th. I'm feeling a game 5 4th q vibe.

If I’m Houston I go back to attacking the basket. Get Capela back in for the 4th. Going to need some big minutes from capela, Gordon and tucker.

This is a bizarre interlude and you guys won't understand it but if you let it come to you, it will make sense. Foster Loyer reminds me very much of Steph. Dumb it down 2 levels in terms of physical ability and competition. That's Foster Loyer. We're going to enjoy it.

One game suspension for The Mailmansteveschneider wrote:Dr. The old school d can’t gaurd the catch and shoot, drive and kick, the pick and pop or an o that is positionless and spreads the floor. Also I can’t imagine an era where guys like Westbrook, Harden, curry, Lebron, Tatum, Durant, Wade, Mitchell etc aren’t able to drive to the basket.

Re: 2017/18 NBA Season Thread
How many times did Draymond Green punt Adams in the kiwis without a suspension?
What about Olynck dislocating K loves shoulder? Cheap shots still happen in the league, I think today’s player could handle the punishment the 80s guys would dish out and are fully capable of dishing it right back.

Re: 2017/18 NBA Season Thread
The NBA isn't a physical league anymore. The 3pt shot changed all that. I often wonder if a guy like Adrian Dantley would get 5 minutes a game now....

Re: 2017/18 NBA Season Thread
Biggest difference is there were only 2 refs. Players often handled things themselves. The handchecking and allowed bumps would throw today's players for a loop. Also, they wouldn't be getting that fake, get you in the air and then I jump into you for the foul call.steveschneider wrote:How many times did Draymond Green punt Adams in the kiwis without a suspension?

Zone was illegal back then too - everybody played one but was still illegal. So they would have that to contend with.
Today's guys would also be shocked when the eurostep gets whistled for traveling
Today's shooters are better. The depth is better (if diffused) too.
But the great teams of yesterday would still be great today. Don't kid yourself. 86 Celtics had 5 Hall of Farmers ffs and two other guys who made all star teams. You telling me they wouldn't cause problems today?

Re: 2017/18 NBA Season Thread
I grew up on 80s ball. Jordan used to draw so much contact. He’d move his arms into the defenders arm and then get the shot off.
Question are you a Celtics fan? I only ask because there’s two other die hard Celtic fans I know that raise this debate more than any other fan I know. Celtics guy at work is always arguing Larry Bird would tear it up in today’s nba with the shooting and that Steph Curry couldn’t handle the hard fouls Bird used to take. I guess counterfactual thinking is fun but Until there’s a an accurate computer simulator than can pit the 80s teams vs the current teams we just won’t know. All I can say is I rewatched the 82 Celtics vs sixers series a year or so ago. To my eyes the game looks slower with less developed skill sets. Also I think we have selective memories about how rough it was there was probably one or two hard fouls every game. It wasn’t every play some one was getting leveled.
