Future. Whichever player on GSW that was designated with that.
I'm with Wags here, I think the better argument would be greatest of their era. In all sports the rules are tweaked, strategies change, etc.
A player that was dominant in one era might be pedestrian at best in another.
In today's game would you take Wilt ahead of Bill Russell? In 1980 that would have been a long argument, my opinion
is that in today's NBA Russell would easily be the more valuable player.

I think you could win with a center dominant offense in today's league but it would have to be with an all timer center.
Throw it into wilt, Hakeem, walton or Kareem - they would get their points and then some. Eventually defense would have to sag onto them and that would open up 3 pointers.
On the defensive end they could be real disruptors at the rim

I'm really not happy with the 9 pm tip. If I start drinking now I will fall asleep.

If Walton were healthy he would dominate this era as he did in college and in the NBA when he was healthy. He was strong offensively and defensively, could run a bit but his passing would be the killer skill.

I think today’s players are just so much better. I like watching old series from the 80s. I rewatch lakers vs Celtics Celtics vs pistons pistons vs Bulls Celtics vs 76rs where the Celtics come back. Guys off the bench were pathetic back then. The protection around the rim now is so amazing. Guys can block shots that the old timers used to rely on. Guys now have such quick shot releases, cross over dribbles , uncanny vertical skills and they can pass the ball so well. It’s like a computer now is better than a computer from the 90s. There’s just no comparison.

The rules are different. It's hard to compare. You take the greatest teams back then and match them up with today's teams and play by yesterday's rules? I'd take the old guys.steveschneider wrote:I think today’s players are just so much better. I like watching old series from the 80s. Play by today's rules and the old guys would be hampered but I gotta think James Worth, Tiny Archibald and Larry Bird are gonna score some buckets.
I don't know who would guard McHale, Kareem or Moses Malone today.

If you play with the 80s rules you are bringing in the 3 pt line and today’s shooters would tear it up.

And the playing above the rim. Seriously watch an old series on YouTube it’s a real eye opening experience. I forgot about guys like Dave Corzine and will Purdue. No way those guys would play today. Also the players today are so ripped compared to the 80s guys.

Warriors need to wake up, especially Durant. Credit Houston though they are rebounding great and playing great d. Capela is really good.

Yeah but the old school defense would give them fits especially on drives to the bucket. You had to be a man to go inside and also be prepared to take care of business Ala Charles Oakley.

Durant reminds me of Miggy last year. Just seems out of it and like his mind is somewhere else. Very weird.

Mt. Draymond is going to erupt at halftime. If the Warriors pull this out it will be called a rallying cry. If Draymond continues to suck and they lose it may well make for divorce proceedings.

Only down by 11. This is do able. Signs of encouragement curry is getting to the rim, Durant looked more alive towards the end of the half and I agree wbh green is due.

I mean I espoused the same thing in the last game and I was wrong. But it was at Oracle. That line is INSANE. Houston +9 2h? At home? Fuck it.

Dr. The old school d can’t gaurd the catch and shoot, drive and kick, the pick and pop or an o that is positionless and spreads the floor. Also I can’t imagine an era where guys like Westbrook, Harden, curry, Lebron, Tatum, Durant, Wade, Mitchell etc aren’t able to drive to the basket.

I question whether I could make more threes than Draymond. And I haven't made (or taken) a 3 since probably 1999.
