Why can they lie to you during interrogation but you can’t lie to them? Seems pretty authoritarian

You can lie but if you are deposed by a grand jury you are under oath. If your defense can prove they lied while you were deposed all bets are off.

It’s why you always request a lawyer rather than submit to an interrogation without a lawyer. If you don’t lawyer up you are way too trusting.

I think if you lie to an FBI agent, deposed or not, it’s jail time. Yet they can “bluff” you during interrogations

You're right, DWags. You can't lie to a federal agent investigating a crime and Michigan passed a similar law a few years ago that says you can't lie to a police officer, either. Best to keep your mouth shut than say anything at all.
