I hear it's coming down big. Like an inch. Have a high school friend, kids were great baseball players at Norcross h.s., both are pitching for Duke now, she texts me and says they actually have drills and instructions for an inch of snow down there. When she brings her kids up here to see her parents, they love it.

No thundersnow. It's starting to stick though. Heavy, wet snow.

Upon further review, I think she might have been talking about Alabammy.

Re: Winter Storm Warning in the ATL!
In Jan. 2014 I got stuck in New Orleans for a conference when an ice storm swept through. Just the threat of the ice caused them to cancel all flights. The hotel had employees stay over at the hotel in order to have people to work the hotel since all of bridges and many of the roads were closed. It was crazy.
But I got to spend to extra days in New Orleans and our VP told us not to work but just enjoy it.
P.S. The food in New Orleans is second to none. Even the food court in the conference center had phenomenal food.

Hey Nigel - let them know that it's basically ice crystals that evolve and manifest themselves in different ways as they enter the atmosphere and settle onto the red dirt of Georgia.
make sure to tell them that it's nothing to be afraid of.. and ask them not to start shooting at it.. and if they have questions they should contact their local weather personality.

I'm not sure if the heater works in our house, I've never tried it. Better idea is to just bring in the grill and use that for heat.tGreenWay wrote:InTenSity wrote:

If it becomes necessary to turn on artificially produced heat, you might want to check for wildlife first.

I see your not really part of the storm, only getting down to 48 there and that's good shorts and sandals weather.

Charcoal works really well for heating up the inside of your house.

Exactly. Put the charcoal in pots and pans placed strategically throughout the house. It will keep things toasty. If the children still aren't comfortable, use a cookie sheet of charcoal under their beds, but keep it flat and tightly spaced. You don't want flames to reach the box spring.

Aren't you concerned it will start a fire and you won't be able to save your beloved grill?
