Five in the last 7 days in Lake Michigan. If you don’t respect them, they will kick your ass.

the kid went to Oval Beach last week with a friend.. I lectured her about rip tides, etc - she rolled her eyes, I brought up an article about drownings in Lake Michigan this summer, told her to read it and then get back to me.
freakin' kids.
(oh - and, to be fair, it's not just kids).

I'd probably hate drowning slightly more, though.

Do you guys with kids know of your posting history here? If so, did it ruin your relationship with your kid?

People don't respect grisly bears and rhinos. They're not going to respect water.

I was watching a webcam from Oceanside, Oregon the other day. A couple of newbie surfers were trying to figure out how to get out to the breakers. The waves would push them in and the riptide would push them right back out to the same spot. Their progress was zero after about fifteen minutes.

BTW, Wakes, nice bachelor pad by the lake. Any talent up there? I vote that you cut all ties with any girl you might have now, take a year, save some bank, sniff around the local places for talent, find out what's up and report back to us with pics every now and then. We'll all give you all kinds of good advice as to who you should date and who you should drop. Trust us, we know what's best for you. Cept tGreenway, what ever he says, do the opposite, and that means if you have to suck a swantz now and then, (nttawwt)it's still better advice than tGreenway will give you.
