Guy at work just gave me this book to read. What should I do?

He is young and from Africa.  Part of me remembers the great arguments I had with other college kids about religion, but I moved past that stage and I just don't care about changing minds anymore.  I will look at it so that he can close the loop on this for himself, but I doubt he walks away from any conversation with me about religion satisfied.

What should I do?

I read the first part while shitting and it's pretty standard stuff. sets up the straw man of the nonbeliever as cliche spewing lost soul threatened by what he knows to be true and afraid of God's love because deep inside he feels unworthy, and then systematically defeats this person's lame arguments with assurances that surrendering to faith will fill the void you've always had in you but didn't know how to fill, and that you ARE worthy, and that you can be a person of logic AND a person of faith ant that those things aren't in conflict. I'm convinced.

Were it me, I would’ve declined the offer outright, and if he persisted, refuse each time. No need to be rude unless the guy doesn’t get the message.
It’s too late for you to do that now, so just hand him back his toilet book and don’t say anything aside from thanks. When he asks what you thought of it, tell him you have a rule to never talk religion outside of your family. If he doesn’t give up, ask him why he is so intent on getting you to go against your own values.

I have a religious freak acquaintance - I regularly point out how hypocritical he and his ilk are to him. Pretty fun.
