I hate agreeing with GreenWay since he is wrong so often, but he is right about this. The Upper Peninsula is the Upper Peninsula. Calling it Up North is like when young kids call their parents by their first names instead of mom or dad. Very disrespectful. Call it what it is given how much it does for us.
