My S8 works fine as does my old S6. Only reason I upgraded to the 8 was because my son's S6 was stolen at Electric Forest a few years ago and he'd been using my S4.

Have no interest in upgrading phones anymore unless they come out with one that can teleport me to another location.

Yep, I've reached peak phone functionality. I don't need one that's going to spy on me, collect data and make me want to stare it longer than I already do.

I just want my phone to show the gifs and embedded links. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable request.

I think there are many folks that feel the same and the market for new phones will dry up. Makes me wonder if they are working on a new transmission protocol that will force people to buy new phones eventually.

In what year will the iPhone version surpass the Super Bowl number? Think about it...and there will be math.

Maybe not. There will always be a fresh generation of phone buyers; specifically kids and those leaving home for the first time. One downside to the market drying up? Remember when the market for microwave ovens became saturated? Hello, recession.
