Just on to pick up back to back Victory Royales this afternoon. First time that's ever happened. Think there's a lot more bots playing these days. I have more victories this season then all the others combined already this season.
LizardKing4371 was online at the time, but not playing, btw. Could've dragged ya to a victory, lol.

I just learned that Fortnite is officially bringing in Justin Jefferson and has officially licensed the Griddy from its creator. Captain Kirk in the game doing the Griddy can't be far behind.

Actually I'm on mobile so take your cursor and highlight this: Justin Jefferson Griddy
Now hit control + c on your keyboard.
Next, go to an open tab in your browser, clear out the address bar, leave your cursor in there, and hit control + v on your keyboard. Now press Enter.

For some reason I don't remember Taybor Pepper at all, btw. Don't know how I could forget him, I love that name.
Also, my boy Caj is on the Madden development team, gotta see if he had a hand in getting us on that list. If so, I'm surprised he didn't get himself included.

I doubt you would remember him as a TE. I remember him as the best damn long snapper around.

I've been actively playing video games for a little over 15 years now. In all that time, I have tried several times to learn how to play on the Playstation, but I can't get used to it.

Is the controller the issue? I have a quadriplegic friend who finds it difficult to operate the dualshock controller due to the placement of the analog sticks, so he bought himself a third party controller that essentially mimics the XBox controller layout.

Thumbs-up. Basically finished the tutorial, got some level ups tonight. Very early.
Was a bit worried it would be too hard to figure out. My gaming is really limited to Fortnite. But they made it pretty easy to guide you through without being annoying. I've tried a few other RPG games and quit. They were all too contraining (walk down this path) and bombarded with storyline and checkpoints. This is pretty wide open. You can learn by cruising around on the map. Still takes sometime to figure out, but it's not hard to get the jist of it.
It will be a late night time sucker for sure

I love getting smoked by 12-year olds with big GPUs on fortnite. They are easy to spot when they are building mega fortresses and firing at the same time. I get special satisfaction taking out builders

Alright. I'm passed trying to figure out the basics. Using the map, inventory, attacking on horseback (which is pretty sweet), what to avoid, etc...they've done a good job making this easy to pickup. I've been lvl'ing up and unlocking new things. But now I need to upgrade or find new weapons. Watched a few videos and it looks like a giant pain in the ass. Feeling overwhelmed.

Lvl 37. Pure strength mash and grab build. Not really f'ing around with spells, crafts, etc. Pretty much cleared the staring map, one to the East and the Southern peninsula. Skipped most of the end of dungeon/castle bosses. There is plenty to without getting killed a dozen times for minimal reward IMO.
I've stuck my nose where it didn't belong in the upper maps a few times. Gonna be hard. But I'm about as lvl'ed up as I can and have seen everything south.

Re: Vidya Gaming Thread
Great news for all Minecraft server fans. One of the most anticipated Minecraft servers was just launched and developed. My recommendation to you is to register now https://servers-minecraft.net/minecraft-pixelmon-servers if you want to play, because it will most likely be swamped later. I was fortunate in that the first users received a startup bonus, which I was able to obtain, but he is now unhappily inactive. There are now only a few modes, but the moderators hope to add three times as many different modes and mini-games in the future, making it epic and interesting.

Take some time in the initial area. It is there for a reason. It will help you quickly learn how to fight and manuever. There are a half a dozen guys just north of the Church of Elleh Site of Grace. Kill them, collect all the rando stuff on the ground, return to the Site of Grace (enemies will respawn) and sell the crap you collected. Lather, rinse and repeat. Don't worry about finding maps, weapons, upgrade items, new areas etc. Master killing these dudes and lvl up first.
Once you get to lvl 10 (it will go quick), tackle the Gatefront ruins. Lots of guards. Pick them off one at a time. Lots of stuff to collect here (map, horse, weapons, etc.). You will spend a lot of time on horseback. Practice killing the dudes above on horseback. There are 2 or 3 caves in this area you can hit too.
After that HEAD SOUTH, to the southern peninsula past the Bridge of Sacrafice. The natural inclination is to head North or East. Which is what I did. But this is a mistake. Conquer everything South first. It is easier, you'll get a bunch of stuff to upgrade. Then push North and East. This is where the challenging areas start. I recommend getting to lvl 20-25 before going north to Stormveil Castle.
I tried to zip through the early phase and find upgrade items. Mistake. Take your time. The quest is never ending, but addicting. You'll lvl up quicker south than north.
The link below is pretty good if you get stuck in a cave, boss, etc. I mainly use the map to plan where to go next.

Re: Vidya Gaming Thread
Picking a character type is a personal choice. I kept it simple. Pure meathead warrior. I don't fuck with a magic, crafting, etc. Basically upgrade Strength and Dexerity for more weapon damage.
I still have my OG Long Sword (which I got from one of initial guys noted above) and Halberd (great range on horseback). Bought a basic Long Bow early. Bow is my main go to weapon. Definitely need some sort of ranged weapon or magic. I also have a mace for certain cave creatures. I haven’t found much use the weapons I've found along the way. I just sell them. I have stored a few of the special ones in case they become useful later. 90% of what I find, I sell.
Pick a couple that work, even the basic ones, and upgrade them. Upgrade basic weapons > speacial weapons IMO.
Upgrading weapons requires Smithing Stones, which are pain in the ass to find at girst. But once you get into the more advanced areas, they come easier. The Southern area has a bunch.

Re: Vidya Gaming Thread
If you die, you lose your ruins (currency). You can retrieve them from the spot you died. But if you die before picking it up it is gone forever. And you will die a lot.
Most of the time you can get it back. But there are areas that you enter that you can't leave unless you kill a boss or die. Most are obvious (fog or locked doors). Some are not. Some are just difficult to get back to without falling off a ledge or getting smoked by dragon. Before entering an unknown cave or sketchy area, spend all your ruins. I've probably lost 100k ruins fucking this up.
Don't walk around with ruins in your pocket. Spend them on upgrades as soon as you can.
