Went a few days ago in the morning and it was nothing out of the ordinary.

Tuesday at 8am was like a typical Saturday afternoon for me.

Today at 11am was maybe like SuperBowl Sunday. Crowded, but not insane.

I'm with you on weekday mornings though. That's when I do 90% of my shopping. But sometimes, like today, you realize something that you want/need that you didn't plan for.

I went to two publix this afternoon, neither was overly crowded, granted neither had a few of the things I was looking for either. The one down the street from our house was more or less empty compared to what it normally is in a weekend at 5.

I see three challenges -

1) a disease that spreads rapidly and isn't going away that will result in a high death toll in the millions.

2) destroying our economy, will need to maintain it or face civil unrest and a depression like no other.

3) People forced into isolation. Mental health issues will rise and wondering how long people can take it.

Go out and interact with people ---> risk disease

Stay home ----> suffer the effects of isolation

Start business ----> risk infecting and losing work force and rising death toll

Close business ----> no income which brings on new challenges

England for a short while was ready to have everyone catch this disease and was going to encourage it's population to go out. Once they saw the death toll they quickly reversed direction.

tl;dr what an absolute cluster fuck.

England's reversal of course on that was, and continues to be, anything but "quickly". They tried to call on people to have the "stiff upper lip" and "stand up and take it like good, tough Brits" theory, as if Boris Johnson thinks they're hunkering in the subway to avoid German bombs. It has taken a lot of international pressure to get them to wake the fuck up, and they still are only just starting to take it somewhat seriously.

So I came home from a store run and three motorcycles tests to find three MSU dance team members in my hot tub plus my kid. I said I’m calling their parents to make sure no rona virus was now in my tub. It was a joke but the daughter didn’t think it funny. I didn’t make this call. But I have 22-23 year olds in my house for the night. Kind of pissed. Wife said her and their moms made the call. I’m isolating. Wife said all have been cooped up in Waterford Utica and Harrison twp. For a week and since they were good moms sent them here. How pissed should I be?

I get that social isolation sucks for some people, but, yikes.. at the very least, it would've been nice to have been consulted.

sucks for everyone for various reasons and to various degrees. I gave my daughter the speech this morning about how we all are struggling in different ways. The eye roll was palpable.
