The preparation was very disappointing. I get it, first game of the year and all that but I'm hard pressed to remember a team less prepared than the one I saw today.

That said.... no one, yet.

That would not be smart in my professional opinion.

I heard Millen say he's been hearing great things about up-and-coming Mel Tucker for years and you have to trust Millen.

Dantonio did great as a coordinator. Dantonio did great at Cincinnati as a head coach. Dantonio was great as a head coach here.

Did anyone think we traded up when we got Tucker? Sure we had old Dantonio on our mind. But does anyone think Tucker and his past says he’s anywhere near Dantonio’s?

So let’s get rid of the idea that somehow if they’re both in their prime Tucker could be equal to Dantonio. That said, in order to overcome that fact, Tucker will need a roster with more talent than Dantonio had during his prime here, to have a shot at getting near that type of winning.

Let me know when we have that roster. Cause we don’t right now.

I really don't know what to think.  Even with the raw emotion of yesterday having subsided, that was an epically bad performance.  We were not prepared to play football and we were beaten in every facet of the game.  We lack talent but we have we have a lot more talent that Rutgers. 

The only game I can compare it to was Nick Saban's first game at MSU.  We were beaten by Nebraska 50-10 and that score doesn't reflect how bad we got our asses kicked.  It could have been closer to 100-0, they took it easy on us.  Nebraska was the #2 team in the country, Rutgers will likely struggle to win another game this year.

I remember how pissed Saban was how he through the whole team under the bus.  We beat Louisville the next week.  It was an up and down year, but it included a win against #7 Michigan.

But that was Nick Saban.  

I am happy that I don't live in Michigan this week.

Can't hurt to see if Fickell wants another shot after the 2021 season. Unless there's basically a silent agreement that he's the next OSU coach once Day goes to the NFL.
