Dems about to lose the Senate?

Senator Leahy from VT is hospitalized and under evaluation after reportedly not feeling well. If he has to resign or dies, the Republican Governor would appoint a Republican as a replacement.

This is just wild speculation on my part of course. Also probably why Moscow Mitch gave up power, knowing that Putin had slipped Leahy some Polonium-210.

No. He's from Vermont. I've worked with people from Vermont. They have a very different version of Republicans. I believe they are probably closer to "Blue Dog Democratic".

Look it wouldn't surprise me if he puts in a Democratic should it come to it.

Yeah, he's a pro choice Republican who said he voted for Biden. Not sure what he would do, but VT very much likes their two Democratic senators. If came to appointing somebody, I would not be terribly surprised if he appointed a Democrat or even Bob's open can of PBR he forgot in the driveway. Free beer for GreenWay.

The funny thing is that Leahy represents a youth movement in the position by comparison, as his predecessor as president pro tempore, Senator Grassley is 87!
