Jack White
I saw Jack White play last night at the Chicago Theater.
I've been a White Stripes fan for a long time and I've seen him play with Deadwather and Raconteurs as well, and have enjoyed watching his music change and progress. This is the second show I've seen of his as a "solo" act, the last one being Lollapalooza a few years ago.
Last night was one of the best of the shows I've seen. If you haven't seen him in concert and like crazy ass loud rock and roll, check him out. He is playing a few shows in Detroit next week and I'm sure they will be equally amazing.
Last night's set was around 3 hours long:
1 High Ball Stepper
2 Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground (White Stripes)
3 Lazaretto
4 Missing Pieces
5 Hotel Yorba (White Stripes)
6 You Know That I Know (Hank Williams)
7 I Cut Like a Buffalo (Dead Weather)
8 The Same Boy You’ve Always Known (White Stripes)
9 Three Women
10 The Rose With the Broken Neck (Danger Mouse)
11 Freedom at 21
12 Cannon (White Stripes)/Catfish Blues (Jimi Hendrix)/Two Trains Running (Paul Butterfield)/Got My Mojo Working (Muddy Waters)
13 Sixteen Saltines
14 Astro (White Stripes)
15 Stones in my Passway (Robert Johnson)
16 Blunderbuss
17 We’re Going to be Friends (White Stripes)
18 Entitlement
19 Top Yourself (Raconteurs)
Encore:
20 Fell in Love with a Girl (White Stripes)
21 Icky Thump (White Stripes)
22 Manic Depression (Jimi Hendrix)
23 Steady, as She Goes (Raconteurs)
24 Blue Orchid (White Stripes)
25 You Don’t Know What Love Is (White Stripes)
26 The Hardest Button to Button (White Stripes)
27 Just One Drink
28 Ball and Biscuit (White Stripes)/Got My Mojo Working (Muddy Waters)
29 Seven Nation Army (White Stripes)

Re: Jack White
Although not a huge fan, I certainly appreciate his talent and contribution to music. Awesome report. That set list would put a lot of bands to shame.

Re: Jack White
After hearing his new one I was wondering how much of the older stuff he would play. That looks like a pretty solid set list. Not a huge fan of the last release. Only heard it once or twice though.

It's 2014. The internet took notes for me.

I like that he's playing all the old theaters. Fox Theater is a really cool venue for a concert. I saw BB King play there a long time ago and it was amazing.
Seats are a bit weird for a show like this, but everyone stood the entire time at Chicago Theater anyway. Just weird to be at a rock show with everyone standing in organized lines. I'm used to the floor being all GA.
