What a weird bowl schedule this year. They started on Friday at noon. Usually starts Saturday at noon. Today's game was an afternoon kick. I could be wrong as my memory is shit, but I don't recall pre-xmas weekday afternoon bowl games. I gotta work mother fuckers, and I'm one the dumbasses that should be targeting (I will watch every game).

Any take on the article above. It is weird that they are willing to reschedule the Peach Bowl but not CFP games. It seems absurd and reflects a total lack of preperation.

Interesting. I would think they wouldn't move the semis because thay would mean that they would have to move the Championship, which screws with TV and sponsorship commitments. But if they are willing to move the Champ game, why not move the semis (if necessary) and then also move the Champ game?

It seems off to me. It's unlikely any of this plays out, but they created multiple scenarios to win the CFP by winning no more than a single game. They also gave incentives for these programs to be less than honest about their Covid situations.

I think they should have moved it up from the start to accommodate a semifinal game that cannot be played as scheduled. As I said, it is all unlikely, but watching a team win the CFP without actually playing a game would be really odd.

I'll preface this by saying I'm not downplaying this wave. Next two weeks are gonna be a shitshow.

As a gambler you're always looking for motivation factors in bowl games. Hawaii was on the verge of a coup d'etat before they cancelled. A&M had heavy SEC Championship/Playoff talk preseason (auto fade). Virginia lost their coach (auto fade) and has to play a bowl game in Fenway... Fenway... Boston in the winter during a pandemic is not high on my list of destinations. BC is kinda surprising, I can't come up with something specific to BC. But it is a post-xmas day game (which I find motivation comes into play more than pre-xmas).

I'm not saying... but maybe, just maybe their GAF level for reducing exposure during the holidays to play in a low-to-mid-level bowl game was low.
