Despite what Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal says, yes—a 10 y.o. OH girl was raped and had to flee to Indy to get an abortion

While it’s true Connies and the GOP have a real problem with facts and the truth, there was indeed a little girl impregnated. There’s been an arrest. So much for an international newspaper and the Republican AG in Ohio doubting the legitimacy of this horrific story.

Republicans only care about the baby (fetus), not the mother (rape victim).

When I heard that story I was shocked to find out it’s still legal in Indiana tbh I would have thought that’d be one of the first places to ban it

That AG is a piece of work. "Every day that goes by the more likely that this is a fabrication. I know the cops and prosecutors in this state. There's not one of them that wouldn't be turning over every rock, looking for this guy and they would have charged him. I'm not saying it could not have happened. What I'm saying to you is there is not a damn scintilla of evidence. And shame on the Indianapolis paper that ran this thing on a single source who has an obvious axe to grind."

Exactly.  I've heard of the various states' anti-abortion trigger laws that went into effect with the overturning of Roe, but I didn't hear anything about trigger laws to increase funding for programs to help poor families.  As George Carlin said, "If you're preborn, you're fine; if you're preschool, you're fucked."

The WSJ today corrected their story and devoted prime space on their editorial page to discuss their mistake.

It's what a responsible newspaper would do.

I will give 'pro-life' christian republicans credit for one thing...

Maybe that's what they're trying to accomplish when they vote against a proposal allowing women to cross an artificial border in order to preserve the autonomy of their own body.
