Fantasy Football 2022
Work league draft starts tonight. Not on the clock. Past drafts have taken about a week. This one might take 2-3. Commish has decided to post players (at each position) in alphabetical order instead of by ranking. Not liking it. Will have to do more research.
2QB, 3WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1Flex, DEF, 4Bench, 1IR/QB bye week, no kicker

The no clock thing is interesting. Some bitch when no one picks for a while, as happened today. Manager that was up was at a funeral.

What pick you got this year pantry? Also if I remember right doesn't the high scoring make quarterbacks a little more valuable?

4 of 10. Got Mahomes, Mixon, and Kupp so far. Switching it up after taking QB's first two rounds last season and failing horribly.aualum06 wrote:What pick you got this year pantry? Also if I remember right doesn't the high scoring make quarterbacks a little more valuable?
What I really wanna know is how confident Nigel is of Matt Ryan in Indy...?
edit to add: Someone just took Ryan in the 3rd round. They already have Brady. Reach?

Matt Ryan was a Top 30 pick?

Indy is going to be pretty solid, I'd expect most of that reason to be Taylor though

I saw that. Unless you have some whacked scoring system that heavily favors QBs, my question remains.
Hard to tell without knowing which QBs (and other players) were already drafted.

Re: Fantasy Football 2022
All the usual suspects. Almost everyone has picked 2 QBs through 4 rounds...someone even picked Goff. You can only roster 2 QBs except bye weeks or IR. Took Javonte Williams over Saquon Barkley at #4. Will probably pick Trey Lance in the 5th or 6th. Will pick Kenneth Walker III a couple rounds later, but I gotta be careful. One of the other managers is also an MSU alum.NigelUno wrote:The Pantry wrote:It's a 2 QB league

Guy up after me took Barkley. His injury history is what made me go with Williams.

My league is running the lottery tonight. I am loaded with extra picks this year after what I am calling a strategic retreat at the end of last season.

Same guy stole my next pick...Stephon Diggs. Took CeeDee Lamb in the 5th round. Thought about Deebo Samuel but wouldn't fit my plan to pick up Lance later.

Have Nyheim Hines targeted for a later round pick in case Taylor goes down.aualum06 wrote:Indy is going to be pretty solid, I'd expect most of that reason to be Taylor though

I'd be worried because looking at their roster they don't have much at WR it feels like. Take a flier on Paris Campbell late maybe

Liked T.Y. Hilton for years but he's getting a little long in the tooth. Still keeping an eye on him and Odell to see where they end up.aualum06 wrote:The Pantry wrote:Have Nyheim Hines targeted for a later round pick in case Taylor goes down.

Trading picks works just like in real football, except that each team has to net the same number of picks. So when I say extra picks, what I really mean is I have two firsts and two seconds, but no third or seventh. Moved up mostly from trading away Mixon, Herbert, and Kamara last year.
Our lottery is just a bingo ball doodad, and each manager is assigned a certain number of balls based on final standings of previous year. When your ball comes up, you choose your draft slot, since some prefer the back end in snake drafts. I got the fourth pick selection, chose #3. Guy with the best odds ended up with the last pick selection, which ended up being #6.

Still haven't picked a TE. Will probably get Irv Smith (Minnesota) couple picks from now. Figure Heyward is worth a flier in the last round.NigelUno wrote:The Pantry wrote:Conner Heyward isn't on the list of draftable players. Gonna write him in my 14th pick.

You picked D before TE? What is the buy in for this league?

It's the scoring. A top DST is better than a top TE over the course of the season. Hope Buffalo doesn't blow it.NigelUno wrote:The Pantry wrote:Still haven't picked a TE. Will probably get Irv Smith (Minnesota) couple picks from now. Figure Heyward is worth a flier in the last round.

One pick away from getting Smith. Think he'll do fine with Cousins.
No money involved but there is a nice trophy to have your name on.

Not an NFL guy, but do CF. D scoring definitely varies by league. One league it is a big factor, the other not so much. I much prefer leagues that D matters.

But, it seems like defense only matters when some team gets a Pick 6 and Strip Sack TD. When you lose that way, it's kinda bullshit.

Only doubled? Does he get projected points for tying his shoelaces or something?
15 projected in our league. 44 at half.
Picked up Justin Fields a few weeks ago. Dropped Russ Wilson. Fields looks great on my bench with 41 points.

Mixon ended up with 92.19 vs projected 37.69.
Had to pick up Fields because Prescott on a bye. Ended up with 87.95 vs projected 40.06.
