How fuct is Trump? He's probably going to have to start dumping real estate or it's going to be taken to satisfy the judgement. He's more than likely been taking depreciation on his buildings to lower his taxes but once those are sold or taken he either has to buy a replacement or he's on the hook for the taxes that he avoided with the depreciation. There's no way that banks are going to finance any new buildings for him with the likelihood that they will end up being the property of New York State. It would be wonderful if the only way for that to be stopped would be another Trump bankruptcy prior to the election.

Alternatively, Smith could appeal to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, where more experienced judges have already overturned Cannon and reined her in. But doing that will only further delay a trial that’s at least three months behind schedule, entirely by the judge’s own design. (She froze the investigation and tried to slow-roll document review until the appellate court forced her to stop.)
